Daddy and his girls
On July 1 we our family of four became a family of five, and we are all so excited. It is amazing how she just fits into our family, it seems like shes just always been here!
The last day of June was a busy one. We went to Tia's for coffee and to see their new house, then to Oostenburgs to do some haircuts, Dairy Queen for lunch, and then the girls convinced me that we needed to stop at the Library since we hadn't done that yet since moving back to Alberta. Then we went home and while the girls read their new library books on the trampoline I mowed the lawn. I was about halfway done the lawn when I knew we would have a Canada Day baby:)
The next morning me and Ben had breakfast at 5:30, woke the girls up, and brought them to Jake and Tias. The girls were pretty excited that it was time for the baby to finally be born!
When we got to the hospital we were so nervous they would just send us home again, because we got sent home twice when Hannah was born. So the nurse hooked me up to the stress test machine, and gave me some juice to drink so Adelle would wake up and move around a bit. We were pretty excited when she checked me and I was 4 cm so we didn't have to go home. We were going to have a baby! I told the nurse I would looove to have an epidural, so she said that they would try but since it was Canada Day there was only one anesthesiologist working so there might not be time. They moved us to a nice room, with a big window. So I layed as still as I could, because the more I moved the more the contractions came, and i definitely wanted an epidural. At about 11:20AM I got the epidural, and Dr. Davies broke my water. And at 12:38 PM after pushing through only five contractions, our beautiful Adelle was born. She was a scary shade of blue and only squeaked when she came out, but the Doctor didn't seem worried so neither were we. She soon started crying and turning a little pinker.
Ben started calling people to tell them the exciting news. Then they moved us to our room, and we were excited because we got a private room! My mom brought Saidey and Hannah to see Adelle, and they loved her! It was pretty special to watch them with her for the first time!
\ So far Adelle Is a very calm, easy baby. She is a great at nursing, and sleeps very good at night once she is settled only getting up two or three times to nurse. She is so cute to watch during the day when she is awake, she just calmly looks at everything, and loves to stare at our faces. We are all pretty happy with our new baby!
