Our Pre School Girl May 31, 2013
Today was a big day for Saidey! She had Pre School Orientation. Ben and I had decided not to send Saidey to pre school but after talking to Saideys Speech Therapy teacher again we changed our minds. So we registered her Monday and today she got to go see what it was all about. I'm kind of glad it all happened so fast so I couldn't change my mind!
We are hoping that pre school will help her slow down and pronounce her words clearer, and I am sure it will benefit her in so many other ways as well. Hannah and I will miss her like crazy! ( But Hannah does seem to love evenings when Saidey hasn't napped and so Saidey is the first to go to bed! It is fun to listen to her talk and watch her play without Saidey because she definetly spends most of her day copying her big sister!)
The fact that Saidey is going to pre school is huge for me! A year ago there was no way I could even consider it! Ever since Saidey was born 4 and a half years ago I have become sickness germaphobe ! I think it started when we had to be so, so careful in the NICU sanitizing our hands, and even when we got to take her home after 6 weeks her pediatrician still said we needed to keep her out of the church nursery and away from sick kids. When Saidey did somehow manage to catch a tummy bug she ended up in the hospital due to dehydration twice in one year. This was scary and just made my phobia worse. Thankfully Saidey can now deal with tummy bugs no problem and is a superstar cold fighter! Being Saideys mom has made me a stronger person, and looking back I wouldn't want it any other way! I am so thankful to God for taking my phobia away! It took 4 years and daily prayers. I am also thankful that Ben was so patient. Ben loves people, so having a germaphobe wife was super hard for him! It was so easy for me to just keep Saidey at home away from all the germs and we definetly stayed home a lot more that Ben would have liked. I still don't like it when my girls get sick but I know its good for them and while many people would still consider me a sickness germaphobe I am very excited at how much better I've gotten!
Saidey four and a half years ago! Proof that there can be miracles if you believe!
Saidey today after Pre School Orientation! Happy and Healthy!

What We've Been Up To
What We've Been Up To May 31, 2013
We have been having beautiful weather the past few weeks! The girls have been playing ball, blowing bubbles, and spending lots of time with the pets.
One night while Ben was golfing I took the girls to Green Haven Garden Centre and told them they could each pick one flower to have as their own. Hannah didn't do so well and tried to fill our whole cart with flowers. Saidey took her flower choosing very seriously and walked down every aisle looking and sniffing. She finally decided on a peach coloured Geranium.
On May long weekend tragedy struck our chicken coop. The girls and I were in town and Ben was sleeping after working 15 hour day. He woke up to the sound of barking dogs and panicking chickens. When he got outside two big dogs had killed 3 of our 6 chickens. Of course they had to get Saidey and Hannah's special ones! Luckily someone we knew had just got 26 tiny baby chicks so we were able to replace them that night.
One week later we woke up to find that dogs had come in the night and killed the last of our 3 big chickens. We were so sad. So we are going to try putting stronger wire around the coop and hopefully soon we will also get our whole yard fenced in. Saidey is so nervous about the big dogs she wont even go outside without Ben or I going with her.

Chickens May 11, 2013
I cant believe how fast our baby chicks have grown! It has taken awhile but they seem to be finally getting used to us! We let them out of the chicken run in the morning if we are planning to be home and they love to peck around looking for things to eat. This morning they were on the deck eating our leftover porridge we put out for the dog.
A few weeks ago we started to wonder if Polly might actually be a rooster. As he gets older it gets more and more obvious! He is super agressive to other animals if he thinks they are trying to get the hens, and the comb on the top of his head is way bigger than all the other chickens. We are kind of sad about this because when he starts to crow we will either have to eat him or send him to a new home. And since they are pretty much pets I don't think the girls or me will want to eat him when the time comes!
The last two weeks have been so warm! I am having a hard time balancing indoor and outdoor chores, it's just so nice to be outside, so we are getting alot done in the yard and some days not enough done in the house. The girls have played in the pool a couple of times, and since we haven't had rain for the last two weeks tonight we had to put the sprinkler on the front lawn, which Hannah thought was very fun! It will be so nice to hopefully get hooked onto the town water line so we can have unlimited water.
