   Today we went to Coaldale Nurseries to pick out apple trees. We bought two regular apple trees, and a flowering crab apple tree for the front yard which Ben has wanted for a long time. When he had the crab apple tree planted he decided we need to go pick up another one for the other side of the front yard.
  



   We also started planting the garden, and Saidey's job was to water everything that had been planted. She decided to instead turn the hose in to a sprinkler and run through it. We let her have fun for a few minutes but then I took her inside to change because it was a pretty cold day!
   Ben put new shingles on the chicken coop. The old shingles were super old wood and looked cute, but some were starting to fall off and we didn't want the chickens getting wet. It sure is nice to  have such a handy husband!                                                                                                                                      And something very exciting.... I get a greenhouse!!! I was talking with our neighbour and she mentioned that they wanted to sell there old greenhouse because they have a new one. So we are trading! She gets a baby bouncy chair and a haircut and I get a greenhouse.

Busy Saturday

   Yesterday was a very busy day. In the morning the girls and I did the fun run. Its is a 5 K fundraising run to support Coaldale Christian School. It took me 41 minutes, I definitely need to start running more often, but we had fun! Keshia and Amber rode Amber's horses at the back of the race to make sure everyone crossed the finish line.

   After the girls woke up from there nap we went to the Lethbridge Childrens Festival with Keshia and her boys. It seemed very busy with very long lineups compared to last year, but we had fun anyways. Saidey loved the Dora Bouncy Castle. I thought Hannah would like it but this bouncy castle had a slide, and when she got to the top of the slide she got scared and wouldn't go down, and kids started piling up behind her had she had to be rescued.

   Today we went to Keshia's house. The girls were so excited to go play with their cousins! We hadn't been there in awhile so there were lots of new things for them to see and play with. Baby bunnies, a trampoline, and a playground. The kids were so busy playing there was pretty much no fighting!

My 26th Birthday

My 26th Birthday    April 17, 2013


   Today is my 26th birthday. Thankfully I don't get too stressed about birthdays, except the year I turned 20 and I'm sure 30 will be hard! I had a Fantastic day. Ben was the first one to say happy birthday at 5:15 AM when I took Hannah in our bed because she had an accident. Then My mom and Keshia and her boys came for a surprise visit and brought cake and flowers. Saidey and Hannah were excited to play with the boys! This afternoon I went to Yolanda's for coffee and she gave me the cutest owl mug full of tea bags! I'm sure I will use it daily!!! Tonight we went to Firestone for supper, it is our favorite!

   Ben and the girls are giving me two apple trees for a birthday gift but when we went to look at the greenhouse on Monday the lady working there said we were a few weeks to early. I am excited to have apple trees again, there were three when we moved here but they had to be cut down because they all got a disease.

April Snow Storm

April Snow Storm   April 15, 2013

   It started snowing Saturday night and just cant seem to stop. Its hard to believe were already half way through April with weather like this. Hopefully this will be the last snowstorm for the year. This morning Ben said we should take the girls sledding at Taylor "Mountain".  There was lots of snow and we had the hill all to ourselves!

  This morning was sunny so we took the chicks outside for the first time. They seemed to love it. Saidey loves the chicks so much. She is so excited that she has been waking up at 6:00 the past few mornings asking if the chicks are awake and if she can hold them. She never, ever wakes up that early!!!

Springtime   April 9, 2013

  We are loving this springtime weather! The first thing the girls do in the morning is look out the window hoping for sunshine.
  About a week ago I started bugging Ben about getting some chickens. I was half joking because I never thought he would agree. Then on monday afternoon (his day off) he randomly said that we better get started building the chicken run! I was so excited!!!
  We are using the old outhouse as a coop, so Ben just needs to add a chicken run, and build some nesting boxes.
  After Ben got home from work today we went to pick up our chicks. The girls an I we very excited that they were so colorful. Here are some pictures of our new chicks...
